Thank you, everyone for the kind comments. If you've read much about me and my work, you know that I am absolutely in love with coastal scenes. Shackleford is a place that I am especially fascinated with--this is because I have spent wonderful times camping on the barrier island, reaching it by a small ferry from Harkers Island, and pitching a tent near the ocean. There are no houses or roads here, and I am so thankful for that! The times that I have been, the island remained nearly vacant, only a few people being ferried over for a couple of hours, and then returned to the mainland. So, it's a true getaway from the real world! I have taken thousands of pictures here, keeping my camera out on a tripod with a plastic bag over it to record scenes of this natural habitat. There's nothing quite like it!
